Network Marketing: What is Twitter ?

March 26, 2009
Twitter is another fantastic way to build and stay connected to your audience.

It’s probably one of the easiest social Web 2.0 sites to set up and start using.

As we should all know by now, building and communicating with an audience is the key to success in business.

That’s the fundamental message in the new network marketing model (also called ‘attraction marketing‘). By building an audience (such as an email list) you’re able to deliver ongoing information to your ‘contacts’ that is deemed valuable.

This builds you up as a trustworthy person to know, buy from, and do business with.

  • You can put your ‘offers’ in front of your audience.
  • You can find high quality prospects from your ‘list’ or audience.
  • Your audience is a real asset that follows you forever, regardless of whether or not your MLM company goes out of business or not.

But building an email list is just one of many ways to build and communicate with your audience.

In the social Web 2.0 world, you can build a fan club (which is your ‘audience’) at many social marketing Web 2.0 locations.

Here are just some of them you may know about:

And these are just a few examples, which we’ve been teaching you inside Marketing Merge Professional.

Another fantastic way to build your audience is by using Twitter.

Twitter is amazingly simple. It basically works like this:

You give people your Twitter web link. For example, I give out http://www.Twitter.com/angelabrooks

I might send that to my email list, give it out in various blog posts like I just did, or share it at FaceBook, etc.

When people go to that address they can quickly choose to ‘follow’ me on Twitter.

If someone follows you on Twitter it means that each time you send out an update about something, they will see it.

This is similar to a feature at Facebook where you Update everyone about what you’re doing.

People who are already using Twitter can find you there. For example, if you choose to ‘follow’ other people, then their audience will see you. If they have seen your name or face before in the social web 2.0 world, they may click on it and decide to ‘follow you.’ Your audience grows.

If you post a good blog article, Squidoo lens, Hub Page or some other article or web post, you can post it there at Twitter very quickly. Everyone who is following you will see it. That means more traffic and exposure to that Blog post or article, which is what you want.

But even if you’re not promoting something like an article (or whatever it may be) you can still send a message update out on Twitter from time to time that keeps your name and face in front of your audience.

Since those people who follow you on Twitter see your update when they log into their Twitter account, it’s just more ‘branding’ exposure for you. I might let people know on Twitter that “I’m currently working from a nice coffee shop on my laptop off the Oregon Coast.” Those who follow me on Twitter see that and think, “Hmm… he lives a cool lifestyle,” and once more they see my face and name. While they peruse the Internet and they see an article with my picture and name again, they are more likely to read it.

The more people see you and hear from you–the more they are apt to buy from you or want to know more about what you offer.

Twitter is another great way to do that. And it’s probably one of the most simplest of ways… it’s very easy to sign up and use it.

So if you have a Twitter account, follow me by going to http://www.Twitter.com/angelabrooks and stay connected to my updates and news on Internet Network Marketing.

If you don’t have a Twitter account yet you can get one there as well.
