5.4 earthquake rocks Illinois; also felt in Kentucky

April 18, 2008

WEST SALEM, Ill. (AP) – A 5.4 magnitude earthquake that appeared to rival the strongest recorded in the region rocked people up to 450 miles away early Friday, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a powerful Midwest temblor.

The quake just before 4:37 a.m. (CST) was centered six miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind. It was felt in such distant cities as Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, and Des Moines, Iowa, 450 miles northwest of the epicenter, but there were no early reports of injuries or significant damage.

I must say it sure got a lot of people’s attention. It is a scary feeling to have a 150 year old building as large as I standing in shake like it was a leaf. I had just popped open an ACT Energy Drink and took one sip when the shaking began. Once it stopped and we realized what just happened. I held up the can and said “man that was a powerful sip!” We all laughed because it seemed to happen at the same moment.

There was no damage around this area. It gave the locals something to talk about over breakfast
that is for sure. Thank the good lord it was just a reminder of who has his hand over us and how powerful he really is.

Have a great Friday !

The Top 10 Harmful Side Effects of Caffeine which is found In Coffee and Unhealthy Energy Drinks

April 16, 2008

1. Caffeine makes your heart beat abnormally fast which is very harmful for people who have high blood pressure or a history of heart disease.

2. Caffeine constricts the blood vessels in your brain causing many people in get massive headaches.

3. Caffeine is a strong diuretic causing your body to become dehydrated and the #1 symptom of dehydration is fatigue.

The odds are considerably worse if women drink more than two cups a day. Then they are nearly 5 times less likely to be able to get pregnant as women who drink no coffee at all.

The Parable of the Sower

February 18, 2008

As part of this message, I thought I would review some of the key
thoughts I share in most of my training workshops. I truly believe
there is a way to avoid the doubt and discouragement that plague
so many in our industry. Once we understand how things work,
then we can adjust our thinking to avoid discouragement. No
greater message can be given to us than that contained in the
Biblical Parable of the Sower. It gives us perspective, and it gives
us hope. It simply says a sower went forth to sow. We can assume
that the seeds he had to sow were excellent, just as our message
of our opportunity is. And, I feel it is safe to assume that the sower
was sincere, ambitious a good person, with real intent and belief.

An interesting thing happens to the sower the minute he begins to sow
his seeds. He is met with rejection. Some of his seeds “fall by the wayside”
and the birds come and devour them. Have you ever had that happen
to you? Have any of your efforts ever fallen by the wayside? It gets even
worse. Some of the seeds fall on stony ground, where there are just a
few inches of soil. They immediately take root and start to grow, but
because the soil is thin, they cannot take root, and when the sun
comes out, the plants wither and die. Now the sower could stop there
and begin to complain. He could embrace discouragement.

Can’t you just hear him?

“I was telling Bill about my opportunity and his friend flew in and warned
him that this was just another one of those get rich quick schemes.” Or,

“I enrolled Susan and she was doing just fine for several months, then
when she tried to tell others and they didn’t immediately listen, the
‘heat’ came on, and she just dropped out…withered away.”

However, the sower just keeps on sowing. Why?

Because he understands that this is not of his making. It is the way things
are. Birds come, soil is thin, the sun comes out, and people leave.

And some people ask “Why?”

Don’t go in that door. Don’t sign up for that course. It is not of your making.
That’s the way it’s supposed to be.
SOME PEOPLE DON’T JOIN, AND SOME PEOPLE DON’T STAY.~ Let me repeat that again. ~

SOME PEOPLE DON’T JOIN, AND SOME PEOPLE DON’T STAY.

THAT’S THE WAY IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE!!!!

So the sower keeps on sowing. Keeps on talking. Keeps on telling people
about his/her opportunity. More rejection. Some of the seeds fall among
thorns and they are choked. Got any thorns in your life? Do they have names?

What does the sower do? He keeps on sowing.

Why? Because that is not of his making. That’s the way it is supposed to be.
He knows something good is coming. He just needs to keep sowing. Then,
something wonderful happens. The scripture says that some fall on
“good ground.” They began to grow, to duplicate, and to spread. Furthermore,
they begin to bring forth fruit. Some produce 30%. That’s incredible!

Some produce 60%! Amazing.

And some some even produce 100%!

They even out produce the sower himself. MASSIVE DUPLICATION!

But let me tell you something the sower doesn’t do. He doesn’t spend
all his time working with the 30% to make them 100%. People will contribute
in varying degrees…and that’s the way it’s supposed to be.

Don’t spend your time trying to make 30 percenters into 100 percenters.
It simply won’t work most of the time. Instead, keep sowing. Always sowing.
And remember, according to the greatest book ever written…

SOME WON’T JOIN

SOME WON’T STAY

THERE IS ALWAYS GOOD GROUND AHEAD

AND EVERYONE WON’T PRODUCE THE SAME

Now that we know that all we have to do is keep looking for the good ground,
and quit blaming ourselves for those who go by the wayside.

The Energy Crisis in Children of the United States

August 21, 2007

Years ago the common crisis in most classrooms and homes was a so-called challenge with children who couldn’t sit still, stop talking or slow down. Sadly many were fed medication when all these active normal children needed was some fresh air and attention. We live in a society of surviving parents and struggling kids.

Todays common problem however has taken a new turn and a direction that is more than just puzzling. When a 10 year old has to have a caffeinated drink much less an energy drink just to think in the morning something has gone amiss. Teachers are stating that kids are drinking not just one but two or three drinks at a time and are beyond out of control in the classroom, they are violent, irrational and at a level that is totally unsafe.

Energy drinks met the demand of the generation that outgrew Coke and Pepsi, Mountain Dew was no longer strong enough and Coffee wasn’t cool. In came caffeine, sugar, vitamins, herbs and more to give you the buzz you craved. Sounds innocent, doesn’t it? Until the consumption of energy drinks skyrocketed and the common age of its consumers were between 12-19. With the already existing blood pressure, diabetes and health problems plaguing our kids what can we do? http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/diet/2001-12-20-energy-drinks.htm

Energy drinks must taste good or a switch might never take place. If there’s no jolt of energy no one wants them, so what can you do? Try an energy drink that is both healthy, in demand and safe. Recent tests showed students asking for 2 at a time when a recent teacher brought samples of ACT Energy drinks to the classroom.

Give your kids an energy drink they can proud of and you can rest safe knowing they are consuming! Try ACT Energy drinks at no cost or risk today. www.angelabrook.net
