Energy Drinks a Legal Drug? What Happens When You Take More Than One

August 21, 2007

In a simple browse on Google one can find reports on energy drinks that will make your head spin. The site promoting Meth Coffee was completely startling to this mother and nurse. Have we become so consumed with profit that we are now selling drugs legally over the counter under the guise of energy?

The teens of the 80’s showed up to class strung out on Mescaline. When that wasn’t high or cool enough coke became more popular but the cost was not available to everyone. Today young children and teenagers are getting their drugs over the counter and their parents are even looking for ways to save money by buying their fix in bulk.

Are energy drinks a new drug that the FTC hasn’t had the courage to hit because it’s a billion dollar habit? As an nurse and knowing the profit that exists in mainstream medicine it makes my hair stand on end to even think of one rational reason why energy drinks have gotten as lethal as they have.

The problems with “energy drinks” arise when too many are consumed or when they are mixed with alcohol. Sadly they often times taste so good and go down so easy that the consumer doesn’t even realize what they’ve done before it’s too late when consuming in excess. Designed to give a quick fix many websites are showing teens raving about how they can get their over the counter Viagra and Meth at the local grocery store.

What is a parent to do? Obviously this generation of teens won’t settle for anything less than what they are used to. Energy drinks, with growth of 49.1 per cent, were the sixth largest category, followed by ready-to-drink coffee, which grew by 10.4 per cent. Just one alternative might be to remove some of the sugar and tone down the rush effect, giving natural energy the way nature designed.

ACT Energy Drink come, in powder or can and ask your kids to be the tester. Tell them you are doing some research on energy drinks and want their experienced opinion. You might solve a problem faster than you thought possible.

The Energy Crisis in Children of the United States

August 21, 2007

Years ago the common crisis in most classrooms and homes was a so-called challenge with children who couldn’t sit still, stop talking or slow down. Sadly many were fed medication when all these active normal children needed was some fresh air and attention. We live in a society of surviving parents and struggling kids.

Todays common problem however has taken a new turn and a direction that is more than just puzzling. When a 10 year old has to have a caffeinated drink much less an energy drink just to think in the morning something has gone amiss. Teachers are stating that kids are drinking not just one but two or three drinks at a time and are beyond out of control in the classroom, they are violent, irrational and at a level that is totally unsafe.

Energy drinks met the demand of the generation that outgrew Coke and Pepsi, Mountain Dew was no longer strong enough and Coffee wasn’t cool. In came caffeine, sugar, vitamins, herbs and more to give you the buzz you craved. Sounds innocent, doesn’t it? Until the consumption of energy drinks skyrocketed and the common age of its consumers were between 12-19. With the already existing blood pressure, diabetes and health problems plaguing our kids what can we do? http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/diet/2001-12-20-energy-drinks.htm

Energy drinks must taste good or a switch might never take place. If there’s no jolt of energy no one wants them, so what can you do? Try an energy drink that is both healthy, in demand and safe. Recent tests showed students asking for 2 at a time when a recent teacher brought samples of ACT Energy drinks to the classroom.

Give your kids an energy drink they can proud of and you can rest safe knowing they are consuming! Try ACT Energy drinks at no cost or risk today. www.angelabrook.net
